There’ll be a missing element from ANZAC DAY events in the Eurobodalla tomorrow.

The local Australian Army Cadets Unit has been hiatus since January this year but the head of the program in NSW has rubbished reports it had been disbanded.

They are seeking adult volunteers to lead the long running program which started up in the Eurobodalla in 1911.

New South Wales Cadet Brigade Commander, Colonel James Cameron said this is only a temporary thing and they are seeking new volunteer members and adult volunteers to lead the long running program.

“Contrary to recent public concerns, 222 Army Cadet Unit has not been disbanded. The Australian Army Cadets is committed to returning 222 Army Cadets to parading status in early May 2026,” Colonel Cameron said.

“The return of 222 Army Cadet Unit will ensure the Eurobodalla region has a safe, well-led and properly resourced unit, assisting the community to develop resilient future leaders,” he said.

“We urge the community to get behind the unit. We are looking for more adult volunteers to become Army Cadet Staff to assist the cadets and allow the unit to grow.

“We are particularly interest in attracting veterans who are looking to re- engage in a familiar military-like environment. We are also looking for more local youth to come on board.
