Rates to rise by 3.5% in the Bega Valley Shire

Bega Valley Shire ratepayers are in for a hike from July 1.

The council is putting up rates across the board and fees and charges by 3-point-5 per cent.

This translates on average to an extra $150 for farmland, $170 for residential properties and $250 for commercial lots.

Draft budget documents on display for public feedback also show the council will run out of money in around three years time.
