A judge has told the operator of a local landscaping business “I have put the future in your hands” after pleading guilty to serious driving charges.

Michael John O’Donnell, who the court heard lives in a caravan in a local forest with his wife and young child after their rental property was sold seven months ago, was busted driving while disqualified three times in three weeks.

His lawyer Adam Sumbek told Batemans Bay Local Court his client still managed to run a successful business with 20 clients on the his books despite his living arrangements.

Judge Doug Dick told O’Donnell…”I’m not going to be imposing jail today but if you breach these conditions you will drive yourself to jail.”

He’s been freed on several supervised conditional orders, fined $4500 and banned from driving for the next year.

The court heard O’Donnell’s existing driving suspension does not run out until 2029.
