Jimmy Butler first showcased his emo hairstyle during NBA media days before the 2023-24 season started, and now he’s the star of emo-pop band Fall Out Boy’s latest music video.

The band dropped the official music video for “So Much (For) Stardust” on Wednesday, featuring none other than the Miami Heat star.

Fall Out Boy even joked about changing their name to “ball out boy” when they announced the video on X.

The video’s first half focuses on Butler, until his character shakes a magic 8 ball and out pops the band’s bassist, Pete Wentz, in a beige cowboy outfit that rivals the hoopster’s attire.

Fans have cleverly dubbed Butler “Heat Wentz” and are loving the collaboration, praising the duo for their moves in the latter part of the song.

The cowboy theme suits Jimmy well, especially given his love for country music and his upcoming album plans.

When Butler arrived at the Heat’s media day ahead of this season with a new look, he explained it was his “emo state” of mind.

“I’m feeling very emotional right now. This is my emo state, and I’m loving it. This is me,” he shared. “This is how I’ve been feeling lately.”

Butler brought back the emo hairstyle, complemented by stylish cowboy attire, for Fall Out Boy’s new music video from their March 2023 album release.

The song delves into life’s search for meaning and the pain of lost love, with poignant lyrics like “Thought we had it all, thought we had it all, thought we had it all/I need the sound of crowds or I can’t fall asleep at night.”

After the 2023 NBA Finals, where he fell short, Butler is still striving to achieve his first championship win in his career.
