Wild scenes have erupted outside a local courthouse after proceedings inside where adjourned for morning tea.
Police and a sheriff had to intervene to break up the physical encounter, where one man was knocked to the ground and repeatedly punched near the entrance to Batemans Bay Local Court.
It’s not known what caused the fight but police are investigating.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested.
