Traffic delays on Brown Mountain after tree down near Bemboka

The Snowy Mountains Highway is reopened in both directions about 4km west of Bemboka after it was = closed from around 7am on Monday (June 3) due to a fallen tree near Buckleys Road.

Motorists were being advised to avoid the area as there was currently no suitable diversion but crews got to work to get the tree cut up and moved.

Motorists are being urged to take it easy on our roads this morning.

The warning comes after wet and windy conditions brought down a number of trees along the Far South Coast on Sunday night and Monday morning.

The tree down incident near Brown Mountain comes just days after a car and boat caught fire on the mountain and caused traffic delays on Saturday (June 1).

Emergency Services arrived at the Snowy Mountains Highway on Brown Mountain just after 8am on Saturday to find a car and boat fully alight.

No one was injured and one lane of the highway was opened shortly before 9am.
