A South Coast student has been named as the School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year for Illawarra and the South East Region!
Narooma High School student, Teagan Nicholson, is undertaking a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care from Ectarc, working with Dalmeny Preschool and Long Daycare.
Teagan has a passion for working with young children and seized the opportunity to pursue this pathway whilst still at school.
Having the opportunity to do a national qualification with on-the-job training, whilst completing her HSC has given Teagan the best of both worlds.
Meanwhile, Lumen Catholic College student, Brendan Cooper, has been named the VET in Schools Student of the Year for the Illawarra and South East Region!
Gaining a Certificate II in Construction from Catholic Education-Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn and Lumen Christi Catholic Collegee.
Brendan has demonstrated a deep passion and love for the carpentry trade, which has been evident from a young age.
It was clear to the judging panel that Brendan aims to pursue this passion as his chosen career and are convinced he will be a success will be successful in all future endeavours.
And in more good news for Narooma High School student, Halle Constable, has been selected in the Greater Southern under 16’s girls CHS rugby league team.
Halle’s team will now participate in the CHS selection trials over a two-day carnival in Wollongong.
If successful, Halle has the chance to be selected in the CHS State team.
Well done to both Halle and Teagan!
