South Coast snowboarding sensation Valentino Guseli has finished one-two with another Aussie at the Laax Open over the weekend.

The Dalmeny teenager nailed both of his runs to take Silver behind Scotty James at the Laax World Cup Super Pipe event in Switzerland.

Guseli made history by landing the first frontside 1620 in the competition.

Olympic medallist, James, finished top after a phenomenal first run score of 94.00, while 18-year-old, Guseli scored 92.25 in his second run to take the silver medal.

“I want to beat him so bad,” Guseli laughed after the event.

“No, coming from Australia, we actually don’t have a 22 foot halfpipe anywhere in the whole country,”

“And it’s pretty crazy you know, being second to one of the guy’s the best to ever do it and we’re both from the same country, we can hold our flag up really high and that’s a beautiful thing and I’m super happy to be up there handing it to everyone with him.”

Last year, Gusli became the first person to finish on the podium in all three disciplines (big air, slopestyle and halfpipe events) in a single season.
