A man has died after a two-vehicle crash on the South Coast.
A truck and a Mazda sedan collided at the corner of Tomakin Road and Dunns Creek Road in Mogo around 12.45pm on Wednesday.
The driver of the sedan, a 68-year-old man – died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
The 57-year-old male truck driver was not injured and was taken to Moruya Hospital for mandatory testing.
Tomakin Road between Mogo and Tomakin was closed for over seven hours due to the incident, blocking access to the Mogo Wildlife Park, with motorists urged to avoid the area (on Wednesday afternoon and evening) and forced to use a Broulee Road diversion. The road has since re-opened to traffic.
The intersection has gained a reputation in recent years after multiple crashes at the site including one involving former Bega MP and NSW Transport Minister, Andrew Constance.
A crime scene was established, with officers from the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report to be prepared for the Coroner.
As inquiries continue, any witness or anyone on the South Coast with dashcam vision is being urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
