Club Narooma has flatly rejected suggestions they had changed the zoning of its sister club at Dalmeny.
The claim made to us by one of Club Dalmeny bowling members Peter Benson, who is angered by the decision to shut town their bowling greens next year as a cost savings measure.
Management said that has never occurred and to do so would require it being put to members for a vote.
The confirmation coming after we discovered cclub bosses had engaged in talks with nearby aged care provider I-R-T about Club Dalmeny.
The club said those talks started three years ago were instigated by I-R-T, not them.
A spokesperson for the nursing home operator said while several discussions took place, no agreement was reached.
They added the negotiations ceased more than 12 months ago.
The decision to close the bowling greens will cut costs for the venue by $70,000 a year.
