Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from today (Monday February 5) on the Kings Highway while investigation work is carried out on Clyde Mountain at Government Bend.
Slope investigation work will be carried out by Transport for NSW in two stages over the next two weeks.
The first stage will be carried out for four days from Monday 5 February between 8am and 5pm, weather permitting.
The second stage will be carried out for three nights from Tuesday 13 February between 7pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Temporary lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to these conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
Meantime, we reported two landslips occurred on the Snowy Mountains Highway at Brown Mountain on Friday (February 2) however this was reported based on data at the time that was incorrect. Those landslips occured in late 2023.
