A South Coast pub has been named ‘Best Deluxe Pub Accommodation’ in the country.
The Bermagui Beach Hotel won the national award at the Australian Hotel Association Awards on Monday night (November 28).
Co-owner of the hotel, Luke Redmond, told East Coast Radio he was thrilled with the win.
“We took out the New South Wales award last month and the team is over the moon to have taken out the top going on the national stage as well,” Mr Redmond said.
“For it to be acknowledged on such a stage is amazing and very humbling considering the calibre of other entrants in the awards.”
Mr Redmond and his business partner Yannis Gantner along with their respective partners Lou and Claire, purchased the hotel five years ago with a vision to create something special.
“It’s a very surreal moment for myself and Yannis and the hard work and the renovations have come to this on the hotel, we put that down to our amazing staff at the pub and to all the local trades that worked on the project to make it all come to fruition,” Mr Redmond said.
“We’re very excited that this is going to help put Bermagui on the map and the South Coast in general, that it is a premier destination for good accommodation, amazing food and a tourism destination for the rest of Australia.”
