Eurobodalla Shire Council is offering exciting full-time, fixed-term apprenticeship opportunities within the Major Projects Division. These roles are based at the Moruya Depot and may include travel to Wollongong for block release training as part of the apprenticeship program. Plant Operator Apprentices: Gain hands-on experience operating and maintaining a variety of Council plant and equipment including rollers, backhoes, graders, tractors, and trucks. You’ll work towards a Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations) while contributing to essential infrastructure projects. Civil Construction Apprentices: Develop practical skills in concreting, pipelaying, landscaping, and operating small to medium machinery such as rollers and power tools. You’ll work towards a Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction and Maintenance) through a blend of on-the-job learning and formal training. The starting salary for these positions is $1,391.57 per fortnight plus 12% superannuation and is dependent on the age of the employee on commencement. Skills Required
You have a minimum Year 10 certificate or equivalent and a genuine interest in civil construction. You’re ready to take on the challenges of an apprenticeship that blends hands-on experience with formal training. You also bring: - Willingness and ability to perform physical labour and operate machinery or work on construction sites. - Commitment to completing all components of the apprenticeship, including TAFE. - Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills. - A team-focused attitude with good interpersonal and customer service skills. - Interest in mechanical equipment and safe work practices. - Initiative and a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
