This position is a permanent, full-time role in the Strategic Planning team, based at Moruya. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing policy, providing advice, and undertaking assessment of environmental and regulatory matters to ensure compliance with Ecologically Sustainable Development principles, Council policies and statutory requirements. The starting salary for this position is $84,580.31 per annum plus 12% superannuation.

You are a motivated and experienced environmental or planning professional with the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex regulatory environment. You will bring: - Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in Natural Resource Management/Environmental Planning. Alternate relevant qualifications/experience may be acceptable depending upon the range of experience and/or eligibility for membership of PIA. - Considerable practical experience demonstrating advanced capability and sound knowledge of planning and environmental legislation. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen, interpret and clearly convey information in a timely and accurate manner. - High level of computer literacy, including experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and GIS. - Proven and successful experience in negotiation and mediation. - A comprehensive understanding of Ecologically Sustainable Development, Equal Employment Opportunity, and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
