We are looking for a motivated and reliable Assistant Store Manager to join the team at Merimbula Extra, which includes our Collins Booksellers department. This is a long-term, full-time position for someone ready to take on a hands-on and diverse role across multiple departments in a busy, community-loved store. About the Role You’ll be working closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations across the entire store, including books, gifts, Lotto, stationery, art supplies, newspapers, and general merchandise. This is a key leadership position, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is keen to grow with a stable, local business.

Previous retail or assistant management experience essential Strong attention to detail and highly organised Able to stay calm and effective in fast-paced environments Passionate about books, giftware, art, stationery, and the products we offer Confident across all areas of store operations Strong communication and people skills Willing to work weekends and take ownership of your role Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player Please note: Weekend availability is essential for this role. The successful candidate must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays as part of their regular roster.
