The SES has saved the day again here on the Far South Coast but not from a storm or flood.
Volunteer members from Moruya and Batemans Bay Units instead called out to a local property after a horse fell into a septic tank.

Eurobodalla Controller Peter Collins said fortunately they were able to safely return the animal to ground level.
“It was a concrete lid over the septic tank, and the landowner said it’s never walked on it before, but apparently it’s walked on it and it’s collapsed,” Mr Collins said.
“They’re not light animals. It’s one of the difficulties in rescuing them, is that they’re, you know, between 400 to 500 kilograms,” he said.
“It wasn’t too bad because the horse was standing up and it was kind of like it was only about a 1.5 metre deep pit. We could get an excavator in and just lift the horse straight out.
“For the large animal rescues
“We’ve got quite a number of people who are specialty trained in that, and we certainly have a lot of equipment. We seem to get probably, Probably 4 or 5 large animal rescues per year.”
Aa check from a vet after the whole ordeal gave the horse a clean bill of health.
