Personal Struggles and Triumphs

Wilson’s life wasn’t without pain. He struggled with mental health issues for most of his life. In 2024, he was diagnosed with a neurocognitive disorder. After the death of his wife, Melinda Ledbetter, that same year, he was placed under a conservatorship due to his declining health. Despite this, Wilson’s music never lost its power or importance. His final live performance took place in July 2022.
