Australia’s place in the Football World Cup has sadly come to an end at the feet of Egypt.
Batemans Bay born 25-year-old Kai Trewin was called on by coach Tony Popovic for the second half to replace the injured Jordan Bos.
During his 74 minutes on the pitch, Kai made 24 passes and had one shot at goal in the 88th minute but was unable to break the 1-all deadlock.

The epic clash went for over two hours early Saturday morning our time, with Egypt winning the game on penalty shootout in the end 4-2.
