Batemans Bay boxer Skye Falzon has retained her WBA Featherweight Asia and Oceania titles after a unanimous points decision over Indian Monika Singh.
The 37-year-old was scored 99-91 by each of the three judges after the bout at the Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club on Friday night.
Skye said next stop is hopefully an interim World Title fight.
“Look, we’re hoping that we move on to a bigger and better title. I had a few opportunities present themselves to me this year already, but I just probably wasn’t ready to take them on just yet being out of shape and knowing that I had to actually fight Monika first,” Skye said.
“So we would love to fight for an interim world title after this to try to make us mandatory for a world title,” she said.
“I mean a world title, completely different kettle of fish really, like obviously big stage, big contenders, big house names, pretty much the goal that everyone wants to achieve when they book.”
