A road in Merimbula has been closed this morning after strong winds sent a large tree crashing down onto powerlines.
The SES Eden Unit called out to Woodland Drive in the town.
Crews expect to be on scene for several hours with the power needing to be isolated first before they can safely start to work on removing the tree.

The road status will be updated on the Live Traffic NSW app and website once the area has been cleared.
Acting SES Sapphire Coast Commander Paul Cortese said damaging winds are one of his main fears today and the potential for a lot of trees to be blown over after so much rain.
