Vile and targeted racist attack left on historic bridge

There has been a racist attack over the weekend on the local Aboriginal community on the Far South Coast.

Residents woke up yesterday morning to find the vile message spray painted onto the Cuttagee Bridge that is so offensive that it we have chosen to blur our some of the words.

The message targeted local respected Merrimans Aboriginal Lands Council elder Gary Chapman and all indigenous people.

Complaints have been lodged with the police.

Then last night another person offended by the remarks has taken to it with a can of fluro pink spray paint in an attempt to cover it over.

A road crew from Bega Valley Shire Council will attend today to remove the highly offensive graffiti.
