Counsellors and extra teachers will be attending a Far South Coast school following a horrible crash late last Friday.
A 14-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle, believed to have been a white Toyota ute, on Quinlans Road, near the Princes Highway at Quaama.
He was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to the Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Year 8 classmates of the teenager at Narooma High will be offered counselling and support when they arrive at school today.
Police said the 43-year-old driver was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing with officers investigating circumstances around the crash.
The driver was observed by eyewitnesses in a hysterical state at the scene.
A number of motorists also reported being very distressed by what they saw after passing the the incident.
