Manslaughter charge confirmed against Long Beach man

A magistrate has continued bail for a Long Beach man accused by police of being negligent in his actions to save his partner Kerry Reinhardt.

The manslaughter charge against Craig Virtue follows an inquest into the 2020 death of the 53-year-old.

The inquest was halted part heard and the matter referred to the DPP.

A lawyer for the crown yesterday told Batemans Bay Local Court they were ready to proceed with the matter and would seek to hold a case conference with Virtue’s lawyer Adam Sumbak.

Magistrate Doug Dick adjourned the matter till February next year.
