Batemans Bay Local Court was told yesterday a brief of evidence had been served to his lawyer Adam Sumback but the DPP was still waiting on some expert reports.

The matter was adjourned for two weeks.

A man accused of being negligent in his actions to save his partner from killing herself has tried to avoid the media after a brief mention of his case in court.

54-year-old Craig Virtue is charged with manslaughter in connection to the 2020 death of Kerry Reinhardt.

His arrest in June followed inquest proceedings into the death of the 53-year-old.

Virtue has blamed the death on mental strain following the Black Summer Bushfires and lack of available support in the Eurobodalla.

He waited inside the court building for over 30 minutes once his case was adjourned as this journalist waited outside to take a photo of him.

He eventually left through a side area.
