An English migrant, who moved Down Under nine years ago, has had his licence suspended for six months after pleading guilty to mid range drink driving.
Batemans Bay Local Court was told this week Alexander Duffy had drunk three glasses of red wine with dinner at Kohli’s Indian Restaurant in July before getting behind the wheel.
The court heard he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.093. Duffy pleaded guilty to mid range drink driving.
His solicitor Samantha Henry succeeded in having a mandatory interlock device order removed from the sentence of a client for drink driving.
Ms Henry told the court the 30-year-old only drove a work vehicle shared by others at the Caledonian Group in Sydney.
Magistrate Michael Love warned Duffy removing the standard interlock order would result in a longer licence suspension.
The 30-year-old was also fined $500 and ordered to complete the Traffic Offenders Program.
