The man accused of killing Broulee woman Mallee Smith has failed in his bid to be released from prison on bail.
The Queensland Supreme Court has ruled Brazillian National Guilherme Dal Bo is a flight risk and must stay behind bars.
The 24-year-old Far South Coast native was visiting her brother and best friend on the state’s Sunshine Coast when Dal Bo allegedly drove at a group of people on a footpath late on a Saturday night.
Newscorp is reporting the Supreme Court in Brisbane heard Dal Bo had been drinking for five hours before the incident.
Dal Bo is charged with one count of murder, eight counts of attempted murder and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
