A judge has been forced to mute a video feed from prison after a woman begged for her application for bail to be considered.

Saffron Tremback from Victoria has appeared in court charged with reckless driving and a road speed police pursuit between Batemans Bay and Moruya.

The natural elixir seller has told Batemans Bay Local Court she wasn’t in her right mind after finding out about the death of somebody and wanted to apply for bail.

But the prosecution opposed the application citing a risk to the community and concerns there was an “unacceptable risk” of her failing to appear, stating she had refused to provide police with an address was vague and uncooperative.

When she was brought up on screen, she asked Judge Doug Doug if she could speak with the Duty Solicitor further before proceeding.

After allowing some discussion between the pair, she was still unsure how to go ahead so Judge Dick adjourned the application for a week to allow her to get further legal advice.

She promised not to drive and would put up a cash surety to be let out of jail.

Trembath continued to ask to be freed but the judge told her “I am going to mute you now. I don’t mean to be rude. She is clearly distressed and is not in a state to proceed.”
