Four people have been arrested by detectives investigating the death of a man at Bega last month.
Emergency services were called to East Street, Bega, about 2am on Monday 6 October 2025, following reports of a concern for welfare.
Police say they responded and found a man, 43-year-old Gordon Kessey in a park suffering stab wounds and died.
A second man, aged 45, Benjamin Smith also allegedly suffered stab wounds and was taken to South East Regional Hospital in a stable condition. He has since been released from hospital.
Police established a crime scene and seized two vehicles for forensic examination.
Detectives commenced an investigation under Strike Force Nakstone, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
“About 7.30am today (Thursday 20 November), officers attached to South Coast Police District executed three simultaneous search warrants at homes in Bega and Bemboka,” a police statement issued this morning reads.
“Three men, aged 32, 34 and 29, and a 19-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Bega Police Station.”
Investigations under Strike Force Nakstone continues.
