A Nelligen man has walked from court a free man after it was revealed a so-called cache of guns seized by police from his home were in fact cigarette lighters.
Strike Force Raptor, which targets known bikie associates, uncovered the so-called hand guns when they raided Florian Peter Fortuna’s Kings Highway property several months ago.
He was subsequently charged with being in possession of an unauthorised pistol and acquiring a firearm while subject to a prohibition order.
A media release at the time stated police had been investigating the 69-year-old after a tip off in November 2024.
The charges were formally dropped by police in Batemans Bay Local Court this week.
