Fifth person arrested over alleged Bega killing

Police have arrested a fifth person in connection to the alleged killing of Gordon Kessey in Bega last month.

43-year-old Gordon Kessey died on East Street around 2am on the public holiday Monday, October 6.

45-year-old Benjamin Smith was also allegedly stabbed but survived after being rushed to South East Regional Hospital.

29-year-old Kody Lloyd, 32-year-old Dion Lloyd 34-year-old Benjamin Robinson and 19-year-old Latisha Mundy were arrested in simultaneous raids last Thursday at Bega and Bemboka.

All are charged with murder and wounding with intent to murder. Dion Lloyd and Mundy also face an additional charge of possession of a firearm.

All four were formally refused bail in court last Friday.

Strike Force Nakstone detectives arrested 48-year-old Serkan Hosoglu late yesterday.

He’s been charged with murder and wounding with intent to murder.

Serkan has fronted Parramatta Bail Court today where his application for release was denied by Magistrate Rosheehan O’Meagher.

He’s been remanded in custody and will face court again on January 19.
