Bega Valley Shire Council has reacted to calls for local residents wanting to see a change in their attitude on moveable dwellings to join a protest outside their chambers today.
Joshua Heins and his partner Manu Bohns’ from Coolagolite will stage the action ahead of the August meeting of the council at which they will speak.
Mr Heins has been scheduled on the agenda to address councillors at midday as part of the public forum session at the meeting.
The council told us… they are aware of the planned protest but says those attending should be aware there will be not debate or vote on the issue following address. It will just be noted, in line with the Meeting Code of Conduct.
The couple has gathered just under 30,000 verified signatures supporting their call for a moratorium on tiny house evictions but the council refuse to acknowledge the online petition.
