Clyde River saltmarsh health receive cash injection

Critical new support for saltmarshes here on the Far South Coast.

The Federal Government is set to spend 600-thousand dollars to monitor and restore saltmarshes and riparian habitat in several locations including the Clyde River at Batemans Bay.

The project was a pledge by Gilmore MP Fiona Phillips during last year’s Federal Election campaign.

It will be led by OzFish, and includes weed removal, planting native species, community workshops and events, debris removal and ecosystem health assessments.
