A land search at Nelligen this week as part of a missing person investigation has uncovered bone fragments.
Homicide Squad detectives, from Strike Force Tuno 2, are probing the suspicious disappearance of Paul Wheeler from Queanbeyan 26 years ago.
The search, which started on Tuesday and wrapped up yesterday, involved support from local SES volunteers.

Police say the unidentified bone fragments will now undergo forensic examination.
