A Merimbula man has reportedly pleaded guilty to high range drink driving after being busted driving more than five times over the legal limit and spitting at a police officer.
Batemans Bay Local Court has heard Peter Dunstan had put away 35 longnecks of Coopers beer before he pulled over on Tura Beach Drive earlier this month.
The Bay Post reports the 33-year-old’s lawyer has entered guilty pleas on his behalf to high range drink driving, not complying with an interlock order and assaulting police.
Batemans Bay Local Court was told Dunstan said to police “I’m drunk. Arrest me. Take me to jail.”
Police alleged they also found a half drunken bottle and two unopened ones in the car.
He’s been remanded in custody for sentence next week in Wollongong Local Court when he appears on other matters.
