Work as part of the Catering department to receive, handle and dispatch goods coming into, or going out of kitchen stores. • Monitor supply levels and order supplies to meet demands of kitchens • Maintain the layout and design of the storerooms, considering factors such as stock turnover, size and weight • Store supplies in a manner that preserves their quality • Be aware of and put into practice safe manual handling and safe food handling practices • Unload goods and check quality and correctness • Deliver supplies to kitchens • Count and record the number of items in store during stocktake • Keep stores orderly and tidy • Support catering and function set-ups as necessary • If suitably competent and willing, support the kitchen team with general kitchen and/or cooking duties from time-to-time.
