Our Internal Auditor will play a pivotal role in strengthening governance, risk management, and assurance at Council. Working closely with executive leadership and the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC), you will design and deliver an internal audit program that provides clear, practical insights on Council’s strategic and operational risks. This is a permanent part time role in the Governance and Risk team, based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for key duties including developing an effective audit program, providing professional advice to executive leadership and ARIC, monitoring and reporting on audit findings and supporting timely resolution, acting as a key contact for financial auditors, and providing guidance on risk mitigation strategies. The starting salary for this position is $61.85 per hour plus 12% superannuation.

Skills Required
We’re looking for a detail driven professional who thrives on delivering high quality internal audits and providing strategic advice that makes a real impact. In this role, you’ll influence decision making at the highest level and help shape Council’s approach to risk and improvement. Your application should demonstrate: - Certified Internal Auditor, CPA or CA qualification. - At least five years’ experience in a senior internal auditor role. - Strong ability to influence and motivate staff at all levels to meet audit and risk requirements. - Sound understanding of Enterprise Risk Management principles. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and present to executive leadership and committees. - Proven ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
