It has taken almost half an hour for more than 100 child sex related charges to be read out in Bega District Court to a man to formally plead to the offences.
The 42-year-old responded “guilty” from the dock of Bega District Court to charges 4 through to 106, all identical acts of intentionally record an intimate image without consent between 2017 and 2024 at a home in the Eurobodalla.
The man also pleaded guilty to four counts of using a child younger than 14 to produce child abuse material but not guilty to two charges of sexual abuse of a child younger than 10, and one charge of sexual touching of a child younger than 16.
The court was told all of the charges relate to the same child victim.
Judge Andrew Haesler asked for the handcuffs to be removed from a man once he entered the witness box dressed in a green prison tracksuit.
He asked if the handcuffs were left on for security reasons.
The judge also reminded those in the public gallery and the media that it was against the law to repeat any information that could lead to the identification of the child victim in the case.
Judge Haesler adjourned the case to today.
