Gems Care is seeking two experienced Mentor Support Workers (Disability Support Workers) to join our growing team on a Permanent Part-Time basis, supporting participants across the Surfside to Moruya region. These positions offer a minimum of 50 hours per fortnight and require flexibility to work a rotating roster, including shift work, overnight sleepover shifts, weekends, and public holidays. We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and experienced support workers who are passionate about empowering people with disability to live independently and achieve their goals within their local community. As a Mentor Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support that empowers people with disability to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. You will mentor participants while promoting independence, choice, inclusion, and skill development across all areas of daily living. Community inclusion, independence, decision-making, and personal choice are at the heart of everything we do. You will support participants to maximise their living, employment, social, and recreational skills while delivering safe, respectful, and individualised supports.

Skills Required
Qualifications • Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or an equivalent qualification. Experience • Demonstrated experience supporting people with disability. • Experience in manual handling (desirable). • Previous experience working within the NDIS sector is highly regarded. Skills and Personal Attributes • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability and willingness to provide personal care to both female and male participants. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record management. • Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including overnight sleepover shifts, weekends, public holidays, and training. • Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety within community settings. • Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and professional in challenging situations. • Strong organisational and time management skills. • A genuine passion for empowering people with disability. Essential Requirements • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check. • Current Working with Children Check (where applicable). • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate. • Current Australian Driver Licence and access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle. • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module. • Current right to work in Australia. • Willingness and ability to travel to support participants across the Surfside to Moruya region.
