A medium rise shop-top housing development at Narooma has been approved despite being almost 4 metres higher than generally permitted under planning rules.
The project is located on the site of a former service station at at 82 Princes Highway.
Four of the 20 units will be used as lower cost community housing which allows the developer to add an extra 30% to the 11 metre height level for the area. The extra rise sought was above that again.
