Get Ready Weekend Tilba RFB

Tilba RFB would like to invite the Tilba Triangle Community to join us at our station in Latimers Lane, Central Tilba on September 13 from 10am -2pm for our Get Ready Day.

We will be conducting a range of fire readiness demonstrations that are aimed at helping you understand what you need to do for yourself and  your property to get you prepared for the upcoming 2026 fire season. It is also a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in joining the brigade to ask any questions about the variety of volunteer roles for men and women available in the fire service.

Crew members will be covering how to operate a water pump and discussing the best branches and hoses for those pumps, essential PPE, your fire readiness plan, info on apps to have installed on your phone so you can be kept informed of fires in the area, what to do in the event of a fire and how to get a fire permit for pile burns after September 1.

We would particularly like to encourage folks who are new to the area to come along and meet our members and ask any questions you may have about what you need to prepare for the upcoming fires season.

Get Ready Day will also give the brigade the opportunity to show the community some our new equipment we have purchased as a result of their continued support from the raffles we conduct at the Dromedary Hotel.

There will be a sausage sizzle from 11am along with along with show bags for the kids and grown-ups.Our little fire truck is returning this year too for all those young firies in the making.
