Council endorse plan for new primitive camp site

Eurobodalla Shire Council has endorsed a proposal to establish a primitive campground at Moruya Showground.

The plan, put up by the Showground Committee, prompted many questions and debate at the July Ordinary Council Meeting yesterday afternoon.

The concept would allow up to 18 large motor home style vehicles to camp at the site at any one time.

After an hour and 20 minutes of discussion the vote was taken with the outcome 7-2 in favour.

Now a development application has to be prepared for approval by an independent body.
