Another day of rain, damaging winds and tough seas is on the way along the Far South Coast.

The forecast has changed in the past 24 hours to see this wet stuff now hang around for longer.

Hundreds of properties spent part of yesterday or last night in darkness after winds blew powerlines down including at North Batemans Bay, Malua Bay, Bermagui and Cobargo.

Numerous roads and crossing are currently closed due to flooding or fallen trees. These are being kept up to date by Eurobodalla and Bega Valley Shire Councils via Live Traffic NSW.

SES Eurobodalla Commander Peter Collins said his crews have also been run off their feet.

“We’ve ended up with 54 requests for help up until last night. A lot of the jobs were for trees on houses and trees over roads,” he said.

“Our crews got to all of those jobs and clean everything up except one in Batemans Bay and one in Moruya are still outstanding.”

By contrast SES Acting Sapphire Coast Commander Paul Cortese says they’ve been fairly quiet.

“We’ve only had five or six calls,” he said.

The heavy seas have crashed onto many coastal paths and walkways.

This had led to a number of closures including the iconic Tathra Wharf.

Assessments will be carried out in the coming days to see the full extent of damage from tidal updating right along our coastline.
