Eurobodalla Shire councillors to receive pay rise

Eurobodalla Shire councillors have followed their southern neighbours and approved a 3% pay rise for themselves.

Bega Valley Shire Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick labled the system stupid when the issue was put to a vote at last month’s council meeting.

Eurobodalla Shire councillors to receive an annual fee of $27,860 from July while Mayor Matt Hatcher’s figure increases to $68,800.

The increases are based on recommendations from the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal.
