School to charge parents to early drop-off

A frustrated primary school principal has gained public support after telling parents that the school was going to start charging them for dropping kids off at school too early.

According to Quest News in Queensland, Burrowes State School principal Kristine Lemon sent an email out to parents stating that any drop-off before 8:30am would result in $2.60 - $3.00 fee per day. The fee would include breakfast for the student, and would be covered under the federal childcare rebate.

Most people have supported the idea as it’s great for those who normally pay hundreds each week for morning childcare.
