The Merimbula/Monaro Street intersection in Merimbula is set for a major overhaul starting from next week.
The project will take 6 weeks and will focus on improving the safety of pedestrians and motorists alike.
When completed, the revamped intersection will feature new kerb and gutter, stormwater drainage, landscaping and a traffic island separating the in and out going traffic from Monaro Street. Merimbula Drive will also be widened.
Monaro Street will be closed to traffic at the Lakewood Drive intersection for the duration of the project, with detours via Reid and View Streets to be activated and variable message boards are in place
The work will begin on Tuesday June 12.
