Rinks ready for Australian Bowls Championships at Merimbula

The Australian Bowls Championships start at Club Sapphire Merimbula on Monday December 2. 

The first week in December will see the cream of the Australian Lawn Bowls community converge on Club Sapphire Merimbula for the final installment of the Australian Championships on the Sapphire Coast.

This year's field will again attract the nation's elite with no less that 20 current and former internationals in attendance.

Play will start on Monday, December 2, with the Australian Triples followed by the pairs, fours, singles and newly adopted mixed pairs event.

This year will see a number of the sports best under 25 talent compete and with more than half the field consisting of under 50’s the new wave of younger participants in the sport of bowls will be on display.

Play commences at 8:30am daily with gold medal games starting at 6pm each night. Entry is free.

The Australian Championships have been held at Club Sapphire since 2017, but 2019 is the final year the Far South Coast bowls town will host the event in the near future.

Club Sapphire boasts a covered 15 rink carpet greens and viewing deck.
