Tura Beach Men played the Sapphire Coast Golf Schools November Monthly Medal on Saturday. In the gusty conditions only three players managed to better the par 73 Championship Course. Lee Patrick playing in B Grade managed to adapt the best to take out the overall Monthly Medal with a nett 70.

Tony Hayward was only a shot behind in B Grade with a nett 71. Glen Fisher took out C Grade with a solid nett 71 while  Ian Scott took second with a nett 74. A Grade was a closely fought encounter with Justin Trethewey taking the grade with a nett 74 just one shot ahead of Josh Mawby and Tathra Golf Club's Mick Hergenhan, both carding nett 75's.  

Tuross Head 

The Monthly Medal stroke competition at Tuross Head always produces some intense competition and this week’s event was no exception.
Adam Husband’s 65 net in the A grade division resulted in a win for Adam ahead of Stephen Walker’s  67  and Bob Hay’s 71 strokes.
B grade players Trevor Jones and Steve Collins both had a low scores of 65 net strokes with Trevor filling first place on a countback. John Phyland scored 67 for third position. Allen Lee returned the best card of the day, however, with a remarkable 64 net strokes to lead home the C grade golfers. Ian Kingston 65 and Graeme Sindel 67 filled the remaining placings. Leigh Coloe, with 76 strokes, played the best off the stick round for the day. Leigh Coloe also won the Golden Shot award for the closest second shot on the par 4 third hole
with 1.17 m.  Balls were awarded down to 72. The  improvement  of the course, under the responsibility of Tim Watson and his ground crew, is now showing up in lower scores being returned. Nearest the pins were won by A grade: Golfer Brad Coloe on the 4th hole with 37 centimetres.
Brad Doolan was closest on the  6th with 3.09 m and Leigh Coloe was best on the 7th hole with 4.10m
B grade player Wayne Fullerton wont the 4th with 77 centimetres. John Phyland the 6th with 3.60m and Steve Collins the 7th with 3.80 m.

Mick Elfar was the star of C grade with 1.01 m on the 4th hole and Mick was also awarded the 7th hole with 3.50 m.
Thursday’s medley stableford competition was won by Brad Doolan with an excellent 42 points ahead of Dorothy Madden 40, Ian Kingston 39 and Bruce Martin 38 points. Brad Doolan also had the satisfaction of scoring an eagle on the par 5 ninth hole.
Nearest the pins were won by Allen Gannon, Brad Doolan and Colin Houghton.
Junior golfers, or any junior interested in learning some of the basics, are invited to attend the junior golf clinic which is held 
every Tuesday at 4 pm until December 10th.
The hour long clinic is being conducted by  PGA professional Colin Holmes and golf equipment and balls are supplied.  Bookings can be made at the club.

Results for Thursday 31st October 2019 - StablefordGlenn Thomson (hcp 12) had the A grade win with 41 points. Runner up on 38 points was Noel Haase (hcp 13) shading Wayne Buick (hcp 4) on 35.Luke Moresi (hcp 16) had the B grade win with 41 points. Next came Dave Webster (hcp 21)scoring 40 and Kirk Brown (hcp 16) on 39.Mel Emerton (hcp 28) came home with a best of the day 43 points to win C grade closely followed by Dennis Olmstead (hcp 22) scoring 41 points. Then came Len Murphy (hcp 28)on 39.

A bright spot in Paul Batten’s day was scoring an eagle on the par 5 ninth hole. Results for Saturday 2nd November 2019 Monthly Medal stroke event sponsored by Jochen Adam and Paul Byrne.It was hotly contested Medal Day where some great scores were recorded.Our congratulations went to Terry Jack for his November Medal win. Terry achieved thisexcellent result playing off 29 handicap returning with a net score of 68.The A grade win went to Robert Drew (hcp 8) returning with net 73 then followed BillMcKenzie on 75.Ray Stephens (hcp 18) had the win in B grade by countback over Rickard Sheather (hcp 19)both scoring 73.Max Luland (hcp 32) had the C grade win with net 70. Runner up was Paul Byrne (hcp 27)with 72.Lowest off the stick today was Henry Loth with 80 which included an eagle on the par 5second hole.Club News Next Saturday 9th will be Stableford and the 2nd round of the Christmas Eclectic.
