The Euro Fishing Association will hold a Gone Fishing Day, from 10am to 2pm this Sunday, at Bengello Beach, South Broulee.
A 20-minute educational workshop will be held at 1.30pm next to the Surf Club. Bait and assistance and guidance is available and all are welcome. Food and drink will be available at the surf club.
NSW DPI Group Director, Recreational and Aboriginal Fisheries, Pete Turnell, said Gone Fishing Day offers the community a great excuse to get outdoors to celebrate our love of fishing in NSW.
“It really doesn't matter if you haven't fished before or if you're the keenest of anglers, Gone Fishing Day is for everyone, and it’s great to see communities brought together to enjoy one of our most popular recreational activities,” Mr Turnell said.
“Experienced fishers can browse the many stalls from local fishing clubs and groups, get tips from local experts, and introduce their kids to the sport by helping them get involved in the casting competitions and kids clinics.
“Newcomers to fishing can similarly get involved and enjoy fish touch tanks, free goodie bags and the wide range of activities on offer.
