The sale of the Moruya Racecourse was voted on  by a majority of councillors at yesterday's Eurobodalla Council meeting.

Manager of the Moruya Jockey Club Brian Cowden says the club's 50 year lease, signed with council two years ago, will go over to Racing NSW who have bought the site for an undisclosed amount.

Mr Cowden says the club is hoping it may have reduced rent through Racing NSW, and has a list of upgrades it would like, including new change rooms for the women riders, who Mr Cowden says now make up about 50 per cent of jockeys.
