Tathra Sea Eagles make Group 16 finals for first time in eight years

The last round of the Group 16 Rugby League was completed on the weekend.

The Tathra Sea Eagles made it four wins in a row with an impressive 54 to  22 win over last year's premiers the Bombala Blue Heelers at Tathra.

The win moved Tathra into clear second place on the competition ladder and gains them a home ground semi final.

Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs moved into third place on the competition ladder with a 36 to 20 win over the Batemans Bay Tigers at Batemans Bay.


Eden Tigers secured fifth place on the ladder and a semi-final play off with a timely 42 points to 12 win over the Narooma Devils at Eden.

Minor premiers,  the Bega Roosters ended the Moruya Sharks aspirations for a semi-final position with a hard fought 22 - 20 win over Moruya at 
Ack Weyman Oval.

Next weekends semi finals will see the Bombala Blue Heelers play the Eden Tigers at Bombala on Saturday,  and on Sunday the Tathra Sea 
Eagles,  after an eight year absence from a First Grade semi-final will play the Merimbula-Pambula Bulldogs at the Tathra Country Club.

Minor premiers the Bega Roosters have the bye and will play the winner of the Tathra and Merimbula game the following weekend.
